Unwrapping A Little Love

Happy Sunday!  This week on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog we have a sketch challenge!  I kept my card simple and even chose to leave off the sentiment.  The image I used, Birthday Boy Unwrapped, is actually one of the three stamps Paper Jewels is graciously giving away to this week's winner.

Copic Details:
Eyes: B91/B93
Hair: E30/Y23/YR21
Shorts: B91/B93/B95/B97
Shirt: E41/E42/E43/E44/E47
Box: YG00/YG03/YG11/YG13/YG63
Ribbon: R24/R27/R29/R59
Skin: E000/E00/R11

This beautiful patterned paper is from the Christmas Delight line from Little Yellow Bicycle and the cardstock is Bazzill, of course.  The sketch I followed is:

This card will be entered into the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - X is for Xmas

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing the different interpretations of my sketch!

A Paper Sundaes Sketch with Coriander Fairy

Funny how time sometimes seems to just slip by so quickly and sometimes so slowly.  I remember when I first saw Coriander on Amy's blog A Thousand Sheets of Paper this past spring.  The image was so amazing that I just had to e-mail Amy to find out where to get her!  Turns out Amy had just drawn her for that card but there was hope, as Amy's images sometimes find their way to being released under Sweet November.  Then time passed slowly as I waited over two months for her release.  With all this waiting I am surprised to find myself colouring her now for the first time!

This week on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog the talented Crystal created a sketch for us all to follow.  I added Stampin' Up! dazzling diamonds to the edges of her wings, her dress, and even the top edges of the Wild Orchid flowers and leaf.

Trying once again to get more depth with my shadows and figure out dark brown hair with my copics.  (I encourage anyone with favorite hair colour combinations to please post them!)

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your interpretation of Crystal's sketch on Paper Sundaes for your chance to win two stamps from Paper Jewels!

Mimosa Admiring Flowers and Bugs

Welcome to Wednesday!  Today I created a bit of a scene with Sitting Mimosa admiring the flowers and a ladybug crawling on the ground.  The flowers and ladybug have been cut out of the background paper which is actually wrapping paper from Ecojot.

Mimosa was coloured in copics: E000/00/02 for her face, Y23/YR21/12/14 hair, B32/34 pants, RV13/14 shirt, E25/27/29 shoes.

Check out the summer pre-orders which Jenny is expecting in May - I've already ordered Hello Mimosa, Rose Fence, Tossa Cart and Mimo Tree!

Mimosa will be entered into the challenges at Card Positioning Systems (sketch), Diedrich Dare (spring), Creative Craft Challenges (blooming marvelous), and Cupcake Craft Challenges (don't be square).

Tossa Wishes a Friend Happy Birthday

Tossa Rose is celebrating a dear friend's birthday with a huge rose for a gift.  I practiced a few of the new tips I picked up this past weekend in copic certification in Calgary.

The sentiment is also available from Paper Jewels.  I wanted to keep the card nice and cheery so I chose yellow cardstock for both the base and matts  The roses and butterfly were spritzed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist and finally the butterfly was coloured with smooch.  Most of the edges were distressed with my CTMH distressing tool and then edged with Colorbox chalk ink in Creamy Brown.

A Forest Blue Makeover

Welcome to wonderful Wednesday with Paper Jewels and Flutter By Wednesday!  Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you one of the newest images in the Paper Jewels store - Forest Blue.  However she is no longer blue - but welcoming the dawn of a new day in cinnamon stickles.

Both the Heidi Swapp and Wild Orchid flowers received makeovers with glimmer mist.  I will probably end up adding dazzling diamonds on her wings and possibly the rays of the sun.

Please check out the rest of the fabulous creations by the Flutter By Wednesday design team and I hope to see you flutter with us!  Remember that in order to qualify for this week's open challenge, you must include a butterfly, fairy or an angel on your creation.

Thank you for looking.

Maybe Next Time by: P0RG

I was inspired by the bright tones and was drawn to the purples and greens:

.

The layout is following the current challenge at Friday Sketchers.  I restrained myself (barely) from limiting my use of sparkly, shimmery items:

Paper Sundaes Eighth Challenge

Oh Happy Sunday!  Not only do I have another Paper Sundaes Challenge creation to share, I also need to direct your attention to Magnolia-licious who has the Wedding and Pirate collection in stock!  I placed my order last night and I stuffed my cart full of Tilda and Edwin images only previously seen in the Spring 2010 Magnolia Ink magazine.

Back on topic...this week one of the lovely design team members and CTMH consultant, Shanna, has chosen the colour combination of Crystal Blue, Hollyhock, and Sweet Leaf for this week's challenge at Paper Sundaes.

Luckily I stumbled across the gorgeous Flutter Collection by Making Memories which fit the colour challenge and happily coloured this little beauty from CC Designs Spring Collection:

I used Close to My Heart adhesive backed half pearls and On Target dimensional elements to add dimension and texture to the card.

The inside of the card features a sentiment from the CTMH acrylic stamp set Card Chatter - Thank You stamped in Sweet Leaf.

Please join us this week at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog for your chance to win the CTMH stamp set "Be Yourself" from Sundae Girl Shanna!

This card will be entered into the challenges at Cupcake Crafts (circles) and The Pink Elephant (add green to your colour combo).

Paper Sundaes Sixth Challenge

Happy Sunday!  This week's challenge at Paper Sundaes is distressing.  I began my project with the layout from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and used a distressing tool on the edges of the patterned paper before edging them with Color Box chalk ink.  I coloured this brand new Bildmalarna release, Mimosa Butterfly, with Tim Holtz distress inks.

Ribbon was weaved across the bottom of the card.  The Penny Black sentiment on the inside has been coloured with Stampin' Up! markers.  The edge of the sentiment has been distressed with Color Box chalk ink in Creamy Brown.

Mimosa will be entered into the challenges at The Pink Elephant (ribbon), Cupcake Crafts (keep it simple!) and Roses on Paper (pink, brown, and cream).

Please join us this week at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog for your chance to win two Bildmalarna stamps courtesy of Paper Jewels, your source for Sweet Pea and Bildmalarna stamps.  Jenny offers exceptional customer service and great shipping rates!

Mimosa Spring Card and matching Treat holder

The challenge this past week at Stamptacular Sunday has been to make a treat holder.

The box is made from Bazzill cardstock and covered with beautiful papers from Magenta's Pleasures Collection.  The flowers were punched from the backside of the same paper covering the treat holder.  The edges of the paper were distressed with Color Box ink and the sentiment "thing spring" was stamped on the holder.

The matching card features Mimosa Chicken now available for pre-order at Paper Jewels.  Mimosa has been coloured with distress inks.

The Penny Black sentiment "Think Spring" which was stamped on the treat holder, was also stamped on the inside of the card.

If you look closely you will spot tomorrow's sponsor and challenge for Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog.  Check it out tomorrow morning for your chance to win a fabulous prize from our sponsor!

Little Mimosa is so sorry!

The Spring 2010 Bildmalarna stamps are now available for pre-order at Paper Jewels and due in early March.  There are four new Tossa images, one new Mimo image, and three new Mimosa images - including this adorable Little Mimosa Sorry.

I don't know why Mimosa is sorry but I do know why she has a flower in her hair - shhhh, don't tell anyone I misstamped on my precious Gina K paper!  I continued the layout and stitching on the inside.

The sentiment and umbrella are from Stampin' Up!  The patterned paper is from one of my favorite paper lines this season - My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary.  Mimosa will be entered into the challenges at Stamp Something (A Touch of Spring) and Corrosive (Sew it up!!!).

Thank you for looking!  Please remember that there is one more day to enter the Paper Sundaes Challenge for your chance to win goodies from Paper Makeup Stamps!

Mimo's Valentine - Paper Jewels DT

Happy Belated Valentine's Day!  I wanted to sneak in one more valentine's card before saying good-bye to the holiday for the next eleven months.  Isn't Mimo cute, bashfully holding a Tulip behind his back for his sweetheart?

As promised, for my post this week at Paper Jewels I resisted the call of my copics, and coloured Mimo Tulip with distress inks.  I left lots of room for a mushy love note on the inside of the card.

Mimo will be entered into the mainly red challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges.

Thanks for looking!

Mimosa Watering Can - Paper Jewels DT

Happy Monday! Mimosa Watering Can has me dreaming of spring, flowers, and butterflies which is a wonderful way to start this chilly week.

Despite my best efforts, once again I coloured darling Mimosa in my treasured copic markers. Next week I'll challenge myself to use a different colouring medium.

Embellishments include Basic Grey half pearls, Mulberry Street handmade paper flowers, Maya Road chipboard butterfly, and Making Memories acrylic paint. Mimosa was cut out with scalloped circle nestabilities and framed with standard circles. The Martha Stewart pansy border punch reminds me of the pots of pansies I place on our back patio every summer - the perfect finishing touch on my Spring thank you card.

Remember to join Paper Jewels in our first monthly challenge "Cute and Girly" for your chance to win Mimosa with Flower Basket. Tomorrow Tracey will have another gorgeous Paper Jewels creation for you on the Paper Jewels blog.

Mimosa Watering Can will be entered into the challenges at Saturday Sketchers, Everybody Art Challenge and Dutch Dare.

Dark Royalty for Flutter By Wednesday

Welcome to Flutter By Wednesday!  This week's challenge at FBW blog is an open one - just remember that you need to use a butterfly, a fairy, or an angel.  Thanks to a friend, I was able to play with ching-chou kuik's Dark Royalty from Sweat Pea Stamps.  She has been coloured with distress inks and touched up with some Smooch ink and Stickles for extra sparkle.

This dark princess is based on Mercy's Tuesday Sketch and will also be entered into the challenges at The Pink Elephant (Challenge #43 favorite colouring medium - distress inks) and Quixotic (I believe in fairies).

A Little Mimosa Valentine - Paper Jewels DT

The time has come to showcase my first Bildmalarna purchase from Paper Jewels.  Little Mimosa, with her cute curls and smile, is my favorite.  She and her friends arrived last Thursday just days after Jenny at Paper Jewels shipped the package.  Bildmalarna is one of a select number of stamp companies that Roses on Paper challenge blog accepts for their entries.  Their sketch by Iris this week is amazing:

I will be entering Little Mimosa is several challenges including Cute Card Thursday (Blooming Gorgeous), A Spoon Full of Sugar (Freestyle), Creative Card Crew (Punch It), Stampavie and More (Valentine), Fussy and Fancy (Hearts & Flowers), Pink Elephant (Pink) and Secret Crafter Saturday (Hearts).  I decided to make her into an easel card so that she can be easily showcased.

An angle view of the easel card.

Finally, the inside of the card.
