Happy Birthday Son

Happy Wednesday!  This week on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog we would like to see your creation featuring masculine colours.  I took the opportunity to colour one of my hÄnglar and stÄnglar images to celebrate my latest Ebay purchase - the new "Attitude" kit!

I followed this week's sketch at Basic Grey Challenges and used Basic Grey buttons.  The papers are from Imaginisce.

I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut the ovals.

The brown cardstock is Bazill.  The buttons and bow are tied with Stampin' Up! linen thread and I've used green cardstock from Stampin' Up!

Christmas in August with Paper Sundaes

Happy Sunday!  This week's challenge on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog is one that I've been waiting for - I ADORE Christmas!  I love the music, the decorations, the gift giving, and yes, even the snow!!  So I must admit that this challenge was picked by me, for my enjoyment - and hopefully yours too!

The challenge this week is 'Christmas in August' and we are excited to have our regular monthly sponsor Simon Says Stamp.  Last week when I began my card, Simon had in the new line of Chrismas paper by Imaginisce 'Cottage Christmas'.  Unfortunately they are sold out, but keep a look out in store as new products arrive often!  Simon does carry Prima Flowers, Memento ink, and Copic markers.

I followed this week's sketch at Sketch Saturday which is fabulous and coloured one of my cherished hÄnglar and stÄnglar stamps in copic markers.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - 3/2/1 (flowers/buttons/ribbon)
A Spoon Full of Sugar - 3 flowers, 2 buttons, 1 ribbon
Creative Card Crew - sparkle and shine (the paper is glossy/shiny and the Prima poinsettas are sparkly)
Cute Card Thursday - dieing for a punch (not a single punch or spellbinder used!)
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - make a start on Christmas

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your Christmas creations on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog!

The Kindness of Others

Would you help a complete stranger?  Someone you didn't know, say, the neighbour of a cousin's son in another country?  And what if that someone asked you to order something for them from another country, have it sent to your house, and you would need to re-address the package and forward it on to another country?  Then what if the order got caught in your junk e-mail repeatedly so that there was not a sale confirmation until the third attempt at ordering?  What if you were paying out of pocket and getting reimbursed and it is $300 and you have to take the time to drive to the bank and make the payment at the branch?

At what point would you have said that it was simply not worth the hassle?

In all honesty, I'm not sure I would have done it.  Now having received such kindness from a complete stranger in Norway, I would probably go all the way to the finish.  This wonderful lady took time from her life to help me.  I owe her a huge thank you!  For thanks to her kindness, I am now the extremely proud owner of eleven hÄnglar & stÄnglar stamps!  This card was specifically created for this unknown stranger who showed me an enormous amount of kindness.

The sentiment is from Close to My Heart Card Chatter - Thank You and was also used on the inside of the card to complete the sentiment.

The sketch is from Simon Says Challenge.

Thank you for looking!
