Birthday Celebration with Spesch

The new release images by Max for Spesch Designer Stamps are amazing!  Just what I needed to create a birthday card for my son's classmate.  I had a blast colouring Birthday Boy Unwrapped as my three year old daughter happily coloured Birthday Girl as she sat next to me!

Check out all the new birthday images by Max on Spesch Designer Stamps!  Thank you for looking.

Back to the Sea with Meljen's!

One more day left to enter the bookmarks and/or tags challenge at Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration Blog!  My darling daughter loves Joyful Jellyfish and wanted a bookmark made with some striped paper and fibers.  I decided to colour Cutie Crab and Seahorse Love and create a card to hold Taryn's new bookmark.

The bookmark is tucked on the inside of the card:

Thank you for looking!  I hope to see your bookmark and/or tag creation entered in this week's challenge!

Best Wishes from Tilda

This post should feature The Rabbit from Spesch Designer Stamps as I apologize and state "I'm late, I'm late! for a very important date!"  I've been working on this card for my Paper Sundaes "Pretty as a Princess" challenge post for a few days now, getting it "just right" and perhaps waiting just long enough to decide it's purpose - a best wishes card for Carlyann from Charisma Cardz.

I wanted to combine it with a few other challenges including the easel challenge at Creative Card Crew.

This card features Midsummer Tilda and paper from the Kioshi collection from Basic Grey.  Simon Says Stamp carries a large assortment of Magnolia stamps in addition to Basic Grey products, including the Kioshi collection.

This card was created for several challenges including:
Paper Sundaes - Pretty as a Princess
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Good luck/Best Wishes
Creative Card Crew - Easel card
Just Magnolia - In the Garden
Charisma Cardz - Wedding card mail-in for Carlyann
Secret Crafter - Wedding/Anniversaries
Crazy 4 Challenges - Paper Flowers
Stamptacular Sunday - Cute as a Bug! (in this case butterfly, which is a type of bug according to my son's bug book)

Thank you for looking!  I hope to see your "Pretty as a Princess" creation in our Paper Sundaes Challenge!

Enjoying a Summer Treat with Meljen's

This week's challenge at Meljen's Designs Challenges and Inspiration blog is fibers, ribbon, or lace.  I decided to use some ribbon to tie close the front of the card and attach a bit of fiber to the inside of the card as well.  As for the image, well, I chose the new Double Scoop Ice Cream available on-line today.

Not only is ice cream my darling daughter's number one favorite treat and we're all anxiously awaiting summer in our house - but the two scoops were perfect for a card for my husband.  As Chris and I deal with the issues at hand currently, I wanted to express my appreciation for the support my husband provides to me and our household.  We're as different as night and day - hence the chocolate and strawberry - but together we make the perfect pair!

I used Crystal Effects on the two scoops of ice cream:

I finished the sentiment on the inside with a cardstock sticker from Bo Bunny:

Celebrating Winter with Spesch

For us Canadians, winter cards may seem a tad out of place this time of year.  However for Spesch Designer Stamps, an Australian company, this is their winter - although for most of us, their winter is a lovely mild summer day!  In celebration of their latest release, I dragged out paper from the Eskimo Kisses line by Basic Grey to use with this beauty:

I have followed the current skech at Lili of the Valley and used my copics (of course).  The image was just a tad too tall for the Spellbinders Nestabilities, so I popped her hat out.  I debated embellishing with Wild Orchid flowers on the card, but I'm unsure whether flowers and winter go together.

So, anyone want a chance to win a $6 gift certificate to Spesch Stamps?  In order to qualify, I would like you to leave a comment below and tell me two things:

1. Do you use flowers on winter cards?

2. What is your favorite Spesch image?

On Saturday, June 19th EST I will use random.org to select a winner from all the qualifying commenters.

Please check out the fantastic card creations by the rest of the design team - you are sure to be AMAZED!

Getting a little wet with Meljen's!

As we're packing up to head on our first ever family camping adventure this weekend, I wanted to share with you a card featuring one of my favorite Meljen's Designs images - Little Mermaid:

My copics and pencils are coming camping of course!  I can't play outside all day, and at night, I figure hubby can watch a movie and I'll listen as I colour my heart out!

Thank you for all your patience as I've been a tad MIA lately.  We all have those times where family needs to come first, and as my son is currently dealing with some issues, the family as a whole has to learn and change to meet his needs.

Check in on me Monday, as I share another card!

Enjoying Summer with Sassy Cheryl's

Happy Sunday!  Today marks a new and exciting challenge with Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog - Summer Fun. And this week's sponsor is the queen of sassy, Sassy Cheryl!  As the warm weather system moves in, Paper Sundaes would love to see how you like to celebrate the sun.  Do you swim?  Eat ice cream or watermelon?  Water ski?  Or comb the beach for treasures just like this beautie from Sassy Cheryl's - On the beach:

The papers from Basic Grey Kioshi are gorgeous and SU crystal effects nicely shines complimenting the coarseness of the clear, smooth water.  Thank you for looking.  I look forward to seeing your idea of summer fun!

A Pair of Carnations for Dad

With Father's Day fast approaching, I need to turn my attention to more masculine cards.  Meljen's Designs latest release includes a beautiful pair of carnations - great for a feminine card, or in this case, a more masculine card.

I dipped into my Stampin' Up papers to create a more neutral, manly card.  Can you spot the challenge this week for Meljen's Designs Challenges?  If you guessed dry embossing you are ready take the challenge!  I look forward to seeing your creation!
