Birthday Cake Anyone?

Another fabulous Sunday!  And with that comes another fun challenge from Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog - Birthdays!

Last night I managed to sneak off to Christine's house for some much needed crafting.  I actually managed to put together five cards while I was there!  Between work, school, and the kids, I have been neglecting myself.  We've been focusing a lot of our family attention on my eight year old son who really has been struggling.  He is such an amazing child with a very unique view of our world which sets him apart from other kids his age.  Sadly, these difference have caused him anxiety and troubles that no child should have to experience.  Fingers crossed, but it looks like in another ten months we should have the answers we've been seeking - gotta love the Alberta health care system and their wait lists.  As I wait, I might as well enjoy myself and relieve some of my stress by colouring!

This gorgeous image is from Lili of the Valley across the sea.  Her name is 'Rosie with Cake' and she is such a doll to colour:

I have followed the sketch over at A Gem of a Challenge.  The papers are from one of my many 6 x 6 paper packs from My Mind's Eye - Vanity Fair.

I tried a different technique of colouring with my copics on Rosie's clothes.  I think I like it.  I'll have to try it again soon.

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to see your 'Birthday' creations at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog!

Dreaming of Summer Days

Some of us in St. Albert are wondering whether our summer has officially come and gone in the blink of the eye.  This year we've had two extremes for summer - mosquitos and monsoon!  When picking this challenge, Christine and I imagined that we'd be enjoying hot summer days - not simply dreaming of a typical dry Alberta summer.  I have paired up this adorable cutie from CC Designs with an extremely appropriate sentiment from Lili of the Valley:

The sketch is from a new sketch challenge blog, Pink {Ink} Sketch.  The inside is fairly simple, using different strips of paper from these gorgeous Echo Park papers:

Dreaming of Summer Days will be entered into the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz - Sunshine Colors
Dutch Dare - Color Combo
Fussy and Fancy - Summer
Craft Your Days Away - Summertime

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your "Just Beachy / Summertime" creations on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog!

Let's Eat Cake with Lili of the Valley

Another post?  Wow!  Hard to imagine I could get so much colouring done avoiding the great outdoors while camping!  The mosquitos have me completely on the run and the rain is helping to ease the pain by forcing me inside to finish the coloured images and turn them into cards.  Today I have the gorgeous 'Rosie with Cake':

I have followed the sketch by Donalda at Lili of the Valley's Thursday Challenge blog.

Rosie is coloured with copic markers: E000/00/11, E50/Y21/Y26/Y28, B00/12/14, E74/77/79, C00/01/03, N00/01/02, RV02/63/66.

Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds and Two Way Glue was used to add sparkle to her tutu and shoes.  I even took the time to finish the inside of the card although with less layers than the front:

I will enter Rosie into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - A Stitch in Time

A Day Full of Happiness

Good evening!  Wow did I have an awesome day!  I ran away to Christine's house and played with my copics all day.  In the end I managed to colour three of my favorite lines of stamps - Pure Innocence, Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy, and Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  Tonight I'd like to share with you 'You're So Tweet':

The layout is based on the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch MFTWSC20.  The circle sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and is part of their Dreamy Days Sentiments set.  This week's challenge from Lili of the Valley is 'Here Comes Summer'.

The image was coloured with copic markers (of course!) and using some of my favorite colour combinations.

Copic Details
Skin: E0000/E000/E00
Hair: E50/Y21/Y26/Y28
Dress: BG0000/BG10/BG11/BG15/BG18
Bird: B00/B02
Shoes: E42/E43/E44/E47

I followed the basic layout on the inside of the card:

You're So Tweet will be entered into the following challenges:
MFTWSC20 - Sketch
Lili of the Valley - Here Comes Summer (used LOTV sentiment)
Fab 'n' Funky - Make your own Blooms
Creative Card Crew - Cute & Girly

It's My Party

Happy Sunday!  Boy is it great to be back.  I have been off dealing with grade two bullies and house renovations.  My wonderful friend Christine has kindly kicked my backside hard enough that I brought out my copics (I even ordered some new ones!) and made a card!

This beautiful image is the essence of my four-year-old daughter - a princess with A*T*T*I*T*U*D*E!  That gorgeous red hair of my daughter's is definately a warning sign.  The papers are new from Echo Park and they are perfect for my rainbow-loving princess:

The image is titled "It's My Party" from this week's sponsor at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog, Lili of the Valley.  I love their gorgeous images - their boys, bears and kitties are equally as cute as their girls!

Our challenge at Paper Sundaes this week is "Spring Blossoms".  I dug out my new flowers from Wild Orchid to celebrate my return to crafting - and I'd like to share some of these flowers with one of my followers.  Details of my blog candy will be posted later today in this same post.

I love the variety of different types and shades of flowers available at Wild Orchid, I had to add a couple to the inside.

I wanted my sentiment on white cardstock to really "pop" off the die, so I traced the center of the die and cut it out by hand.  Dazzling diamonds works wonders at hiding imperfect cutting of sentiments!

Thank you for looking!  Check back here later Sunday for my blog candy details.  I hope to see your "Spring Blossoms" creations at Paper Sundaes!
