March Showers...April Flowers?

Happy Sunday!  I am sitting here hoping for rain - something to end all the snow that has been dumped on us the past few months.  Fast forward to this morning - opening my emails and the local scrapbook store is advertising new Three Bugs in a Rug paper - I packed up the kids and hubby (complete with credit card in his pocket) and headed off to Scrap & Bean.  So, what's paper got to do with snow and rain?  Everything!  Check out Donna:

Donna is a digital image drawn by the talented children's illustrator Christy Croll of Tiddly Inks.  Tiddly Inks is this week's sponsor at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog.  The challenge is "stripes" which could be in your paper, on your image, or even created by using strips of paper or ribbon.  Donna has stripes on her shirt which I have coloured similarily to the rainbow stripes on the paper.

I have followed this week's skech on Sketch Saturday and continued the basic layout on the inside of the card:

Donna is coloured with coloured pencils over copic markers - necessary after Donna's hair was just a tad too bright!

You are the Queen!

I just love that sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!  The sentiment comes with the beautiful Queen Guinevere:

I intended to enter Queen Guinevere in last week's challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge Blog, however my husband had other plans last night.  He arranged for the babysitter to watch our two cute little monsters for a couple extra hours so that he could take me out for supper - how could I refuse such an offer??  So, sadly with his romantic gesture I did not make the cut-off for their challenge but I did follow the current sketch at Friday Sketchers.

I followed the recipe challenge at Simon Says Stamp - 1 image, 2 patterned papers + 1 cardstock (the wine layer is not cardstock, rather the second patterned paper), and three different embellishments (lace, pearls, and flowers).  The Bo Bunny papers inspired me to enter the Mardi Gras colours challenge at 7 Kids College Fund.

Queen Guinevere will also be entered into the following challenges:
Cupcake Crafts - anything but square (card is just under 5 x 6 inches)
Papertake Weekly - anything goes (optional old - older stamp and left over paper)
Copic Creations - complimentary colours (violet and gold/mustard)

Thank you for looking!  I'll see you tomorrow with a new sponsor at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog!

Splash Zone

Happy Sunday!  Today's challenge at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog is "How Charming!"  Feel free to add your favorite charm or metal embellishment to your creation.  Lacey from Stamp and Create is graciously sponsoring the challenge with a $20 gift certificate to her fabulous store!  My best friend's children are getting ready to head off to provincials in swimming in a few short weeks, so to celebrate I used Water Babe to create a "You Go Girl!" card for her daughter:

I have followed the sketch from Cute Card Thursday using Bo Bunny paper from their Sun Kissed collection.  The origin of the fish charm is unknown as I believe I "fished" it off something that was being discarded.

The flowers are from Prima and I've used my sewing machine to add some crazy stitching around the edge of the card.

A Kraftin' Kimmie sketch with Lillith

Good evening!  It's Friday, so I have another Kraftin' Kimmie creation for you.  This week's challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge Blog is a sketch by Elaine.  Today I've used one of the first KKS which caught my eye - Lillith.

The patterned papers are from Basic Grey's Marjolaine collection and the cardstock is Bazzill.

Lillith was cut out after a failed attempt at doing a dotted border around the image - yikes!  She is coloured with copic markers.
