A Fairy for My Beautiful Princess

Happy Sunday!  Sorry for the disappearing act the past couple weeks.  It's been a whirlwind of doctor's appointments and blood tests for my just turned four year old darling daughter.  In the morning we hit the finish line with a biopsy to determine if she has celiac disease like her five year old cousin.

For that reason, and her love of butterflies and fairies - this week's challenge All Things Winged on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog is perfectly timed.  I've used the beautiful Wags n' Whiskers fairy Angelica to create a special card for her on the eve of her hospital visit.

At four years of age, Taryn adores her name and anything with her name on it.  So I used glitter letters and the charming new papers from Cosmo Cricket - Pixilicious.

The flower from Maya Road was a special purchase just for my little flower-loving princess.  The colour matched the patterned papers perfectly.  I applied Stampin' Up! dazzling diamonds liberally!

Currently Taryn's favorite colour is "rainbow" so I used my copics to pull out as many of the different colours from the patterned papers as possible.

The card was a hit!  She decided that it needed to sit on her nightstand where she could look at it as she fell asleep tonight.  Hopefully Angelica will watch over her tomorrow.

Angelica will be entered into the following challenges:
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Sketch by Leann
Charisma Cardz - Anything Goes
Crazy4Challenges - Bling (glitter, glitter, and more glitter!!!)

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your winged creations on Paper Sundaes!

Another Belle on Sundae

Happy Sundae!  This week's challenge on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog is the perfect time to break out your embellishments!  The challenge is to use a minimum of three different types of embellishments on your creations.  I actually used four - ribbon, pearls, flowers, and a gem brad.  The challenge gave me the perfect excuse to ink up one of my favorite Belles n' Whistles stamps, Tania Baking:

I still managed to keep the card fairly simple thanks to the sketch at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and the colour combo at Belles n' Whistles Blog.

Tania will be entered into the following challenges:

Totally Papercrafts - Let's Go Dotty

Thanks for looking!  I look forward to seeing your creation on Paper Sundaes!

Mixing Mediums with Tilda On The Go

Happy Monday!  I'm taking a break from sitting in ICU at the hospital with my aunt to post a card for Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is one of my absolute favorites - mixed medium

When I took my colouring class at My Creative Classroom, my instructor Colleen Schaan taught us how to add shadows on images coloured with copics by using coloured pencils.  Also how to add grass and grounding on the image by using coloured pencils.  Chalks are great for adding some interest to the background or adding blush to cheeks.  Mixed medium is the result any time you use more than one colouring medium on an image - copics, coloured pencils, watercolour paints, distress ink, chalks, etc.

This week I am using one of my brand new Bon Voyage Magnolias from Diana at Magnolia-licious.

Tilda was first coloured with copic markers.  Then I added some depth to the shadows and added grounding with my Lyra coloured pencils.  I used chalk to mute the white background and add blush to Tilda's cheeks.

I followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday - thanks Jeanette for another gorgeous sketch!  Tilda On the Go will also be entered into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp! - pearls and lace
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - fall colours (muted brown roses, golden shirt, muted blue dress)
Just Magnolia - anything goes
Stamp and Create - pearls and gems (flower spacers and pearls both from Stamp and Create)
Bunny Zoe's - vintage

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your mixed medium creation on Paper Sundaes!

Christmas in August with Paper Sundaes

Happy Sunday!  This week's challenge on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog is one that I've been waiting for - I ADORE Christmas!  I love the music, the decorations, the gift giving, and yes, even the snow!!  So I must admit that this challenge was picked by me, for my enjoyment - and hopefully yours too!

The challenge this week is 'Christmas in August' and we are excited to have our regular monthly sponsor Simon Says Stamp.  Last week when I began my card, Simon had in the new line of Chrismas paper by Imaginisce 'Cottage Christmas'.  Unfortunately they are sold out, but keep a look out in store as new products arrive often!  Simon does carry Prima Flowers, Memento ink, and Copic markers.

I followed this week's sketch at Sketch Saturday which is fabulous and coloured one of my cherished hÄnglar and stÄnglar stamps in copic markers.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - 3/2/1 (flowers/buttons/ribbon)
A Spoon Full of Sugar - 3 flowers, 2 buttons, 1 ribbon
Creative Card Crew - sparkle and shine (the paper is glossy/shiny and the Prima poinsettas are sparkly)
Cute Card Thursday - dieing for a punch (not a single punch or spellbinder used!)
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - make a start on Christmas

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your Christmas creations on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog!
