Uru and Bird in the Snow

Happy Sunday!  Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog is back this week with the challenge "Let It Snow!" sponsored by Stamp and Create.  Lacey carries a wide selection of stamps including Wags n' Whiskers, Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, Lil Lolita, and Whiff of Joy.  Norma Fickel designed this cute image, Uru and Bird:

Surprisingly this week I chose to take a pass on the sketch challenges and created my own.  I used foam squares to add dimenstion and micro beads to add texture on the bottom of the image.

Stamp and Create also carries the most amazing selection of charms.  Last winter I bought this cute little snowflake from Stamp and Create that I've attached to the bow with a jump ring:

A Magnolia Santa for My Son

Happy Sunday!  This week on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog the challenge is to "Create a Card for a Boy or Man'.  After focusing so much on my daughter these past couple months during the excitement of diagnosing her with celiac disease, it was nice to have a reason to focus my attention back on my son.  My son loves Christmas, the actual reason for the season, and as most seven year olds in our society, Santa Claus.  For this card I chose to use my beloved Magnolia image Santa Bending Over:

Santa was stamped with Memento ink and then carefully coloured with copic markers.  Sparkle was added with SU dazzling diamonds.  I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels One for the sentiment.

The sketch is by Dawny P. from Just Magnolia Challenge BlogCharisma Cardz is challenging individuals to match up their projects.  I decided to create a matching envelope for my son.

Santa will also be entered into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Sparkly and Bright
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Let's Get Punchy
Simon Says Challenge - Punch 'Em
Fussy and Fancy - Winter Wonderland
Moving Along With the Times - Card for a Child (this card is for my seven year old son)
4 Crafty Chicks - Roll with the Punches

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your creation on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog!

An Elegantly Simple Tilda

Last week I found some time to play with one of my new Tildas from Diana at Magnolia-licious.  I bought this paper from the Lush Collection by Kaisercraft specifically for Chinese Tilda

Diana is currently taking pre-orders for A Merry Little Christmas 2010 - I placed mine last week!  The sketch is from a challenge blog a couple weeks ago, when I find the sketch I'll add the details so the correct individual can get credit for this lovely design.

I popped up Tilda and the diecut behind her with foam squares to add dimension.  I added a black velvet ribbon for dramatic contrast and the soft texture.

A Natural Woman

Happy Sunday!  The challenge theme this week at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog is "A Natural Woman".  I required a bit more of an explanation from Christine who described it as such - woman plus nature.  Nature could be flowers, leaves, animals - anything really!

I pulled out Imaginisce Winter Woods paper from the Cottage Christmas line for inspiration.  I love the pink, muted blue, brown, green and not quite red colours in the paper.  For the image, the design team was lucky to have a chance to play with the latest fairy release from Wags 'n Whiskers, so I chose Rhiannon :

Originally I was going to use Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds on her wings, yet somehow ended up using Stickles.  Note to self: Copious amounts of Stickles on the wrong ink may lead to bleeding!  I've followed the current sketch on Friday Sketchers.
