Another Sugar Challenge!

Today is ending on a great note! I found a job AND managed to complete my entry for the Sugar Bowl Challenge on time! I used SU DSP & CS, Kaiser pearls, Dazzling Diamonds and Super Nova super fine glitter, Glimmer mist, nesties, copics (of course!) and SU punches. Whew! The end result...

Now if I could just finish a couple more challenges then my week will be complete!

Challenges and Applications!

Today was a busy day after a late night Monday night. For those of you who follow Paper Makeup Stamps, you already know that they had an amazing blog hop yesterday followed by a superb launch party. I spent a little over an hour on Monday at a friend's house blog hopping while she watched - sorry Christine! However the end result was worth it - I won a $25US gift certificate to spend on PMS. Then I had to order almost $60 in stamps to get free shipping and use my GC. In the end I spent $23 Canadian out of pocket and now I am anxiously stalking our postman! The release included amazing new fairies (Marissa and Fairy Friends found their way into my cart), coffee sentiments/word art (also jumped into my cart) and a brand new artist - Cynthia Liu. Cynthia Liu's Moody creations are different and perfect for more sophisticated card tastes. My cart felt empty until Moody for Art, Moody for Music, and Moody for Coffee found their way into it. Those stamps are just what I need to create cards for my newly turned teenage niece.

This afternoon I decided to complete the first Paper Makeup Challenge sooner rather than later - although PMS does have an amazing word art which fits me to a "t" usually, today I was on the ball. I cased Lisa McKinney off SCS and found the end result fantastic.

I decided to step outside my comfort zone and doodle on the inside too.

This evening I decided to try to complete PMS's second challenge - and surprised myself when the kids and Chris cooperated enough that I was able to create this...

I love this retired designer series paper and colours (Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette) by Stamping Up. Glimmer mist from Tattered Angels on the flower, buttons from SU, stickles (wings) and nesties were all dragged out for this beauty. Oh, and for the first time ever my sewing machine came out to play with paper!


Then I probably pushed my luck a little too far but did actually end up completing a Sugar challenge. I used the same buttons and DSP as the card prior.

The Fairies are Coming!

With the promise of new fairies tomorrow, I had to drag out Katie by Paper Makeup Stamps and ink her up in honour of not only the upcoming release at PMS, but Taryn's third birthday in two weeks. I struggled with the design and colours but the end result was worth it.

I even decided to pretty up the inside for my little girl.

While I was in the card making mood, I thought I'd try and finish at least one card for a bella challenge.

I love the KETTO stamps from Stamping Bella. Mismatch KETTO was perfect for my three year old girl's birthday invitations. I used an old sketch challenge from Stamping Bella.

Then I dusted off Daisybella from Stamping Bella. And finished with a Tilda from Magnolia for Brennan's teacher.

Not bad for one week at my house!

Monsters and Dinosaurs, oh my!

Two weeks ago the family packed up for a mini-vacation to Calgary and Drumheller. For whatever reason, I decided to pack up stamping supplies so that my friend's kids and mine could have some crafting time. What started out as making some Sesame Street monsters, ended up being the birthday invitations for my friend's three year-old daughter!










After struggling for a couple days piecing together these adorable little monsters, I thought I should begin my son's birthday invitations. Given our recent trip to Drumheller and the absolutely fabulous dinosaur stamps designed by Dustin Pike for Paper Makeup Stamps ... I came up with these:





Now if I could only figure out the date, place, and time, then perhaps I could mail them out! After putting twelve of these together, I turned my attention to a belated card I need for a pre-teen boy I know. The perfect card layout unfortunately is not one of my own designs, rather an imperfect copy of one done by Katie Cotton, owner of Paper Makeup Stamps.

The sentiment is from Paper Makeup - of course I couldn't find mine (one of the monsters I suspect) so I had to resort to printing it on the computer. My son calls this dino Rexy from Night at the Museum.
