Let's Get Tickled Pink

Good morning and welcome to another fabulous Sunday with Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog!!!  This week the challenge is circles - you could do a circle card, use circle papers, circle mats or just circle embellishments.  I've chosen circle patterns on my paper and circles on my lace trim.

The image I am using is Fashionette Lil Lolita - 20's Evie from Tickled Pink Stamps:

I love these new papers from the new Miss Caroline collection from My Mind's Eye.

Evie is coloured with copic markers.

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your circles at Paper Sundaes!

A Kraftin' Kimmie New Year's Resolution

After trying to decipher my first class assignment, I figured I'd run and take solace in posting another card.  This image is Carole from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps:

I have followed this week's sketch challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge Blog.

This is another image that I coloured during my hiatus and made into a card Friday night at Christine's house.

Although I love the yellow-green copics, I find blending them a tad difficult.  I look forward to Copic adding more colours to their YG range.

I hinted at a story involving the whole application process at the Glenrose.  Well, my son's teacher nicely agreed to fill out the two page teacher's questionnaire and two page short answer teacher's assessment.  She filled it out one evening and handed it to me the next morning.  I was so grateful for her taking the time to complete it - I imagine it wasn't much fun.  At work I decided to use my lunch time to assemble all the necessary documents for submission.  I looked through my bag - no teacher's portion.  I looked through the car - no teacher's portion.  That made no sense.  I pulled apart all the contents of my bag...then I went back through the car.  I was just about in tears.  It was gone.  I sat down at my desk and tried to figure out how I could have lost the teacher's portion between the short hours betwen 9am and noon.  I'd dropped my son off at school, stopped at the post box on the way to work to mail T4s and invoices for work, I arrived at the office - where could it possibly be?!  OMG!  I mailed it!  I stuffed it into the post box with the T4s!  No address on it, just a brown T4 envelope with the teacher's name on the outside.  I called Canada Post in tears - could they find my envelope??  Yeah right.  Might as well search West Edmonton Mall for a tooth pick was the polite response I got from Canada Post.  So, then I had to explain what I had done to my son's teacher and ask her if she had made a copy.  No such luck.  I then proceeded to beg her to complete the form a second time...  And would you believe something happened to that form too??  But I'll save that for another day.  :)

Carole will be entered into the following challenges:
Crazy for Challenges - stripes and polka dots
CES Challenges - spots and dots

Spending Time with Tilda

Hmmmm...  I did mention that I love to procrasinate, right?  Hence why I am hiding out on the computer posting another card and avoiding my homework.  Who can blame me really?  Does 'Advanced Managerial Accounting' sound like fun to you?

I am back today with this sweetheart, 'Will you be my valentine?':

I felt like de-stressing a bit by gently distressing the edges of the paper.  Of course my paper distresser was at home so I had to use the edge of my scissors.  The layout is from Crafting Life's Pieces:

Tilda was actually coloured a while back, before my impromptu hiatus so I am afraid that I don't remember what colours I used on her dress or flowers.  Her hair was probably my favorite combination of E50, Y21, Y26, and Y28 and her skin colours would be my usual E000/00/21/11.  The boots are another of my favorite colour combinations with E41/42/43/44.

For those of you following along, in October I took my son for some testing at the University of Alberta. The U of A offers psychoeducational testing performed by grad students for a cost of only $50. The students are supervised by an actual Psychologist and the testing is actually quite indepth. The lovely student performed a WISC, a Woodcock-Johnson, a BASC, and a GADS.  The down side to testing through the U of A is that you have to wait a few months for your results.  As I've been waiting for three years to have the testing performed at the school level, another two to three months was no big deal.  In the beginning of January, my hubby and I met with the student to review the results of the testing.  Her findings point to an extremely mild form of autism called Asperger's.  In Edmonton, a diagnosis of Asperger's can only be made by the Glenrose.  So, I assembled the half inch think of questionnaires, forms, and reports and submitted the parents' portion, in person, to the Glenrose on February 9th.  Sounds rather simple?  Nah, I had to have some fun with the whole process - but hey, I'll save that story for another post!

Tilda will be entered into the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - flower power (papers and image)
Dutch Dare - distressing
Crafts and Me - distressing

Playing Along at MFT

Happy Monday!  Today in Alberta is Family Day which should mean a day off to hang out with the kiddos and sneak in some colouring - but after two days of procrasinating I am going to have to hit the books and do some homework.  First I wanted to sneak in a post.

I love this week's sketch at MFT and these papers from My Mind's Eye Vanity Fair collection are some of my favorite.

This little girl is "Being Cute Is What I Do" from MFT's Pure Innocence line.  The sentiment which I borrowed from Christine is also from MFT.

I will be entering her into the following challenges:
Craft Us Crazy - Favorites (paper pack!)
Crafter's Companion - Anything goes
Lollipop Crafts - Anything goes

Birthday Cake Anyone?

Another fabulous Sunday!  And with that comes another fun challenge from Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog - Birthdays!

Last night I managed to sneak off to Christine's house for some much needed crafting.  I actually managed to put together five cards while I was there!  Between work, school, and the kids, I have been neglecting myself.  We've been focusing a lot of our family attention on my eight year old son who really has been struggling.  He is such an amazing child with a very unique view of our world which sets him apart from other kids his age.  Sadly, these difference have caused him anxiety and troubles that no child should have to experience.  Fingers crossed, but it looks like in another ten months we should have the answers we've been seeking - gotta love the Alberta health care system and their wait lists.  As I wait, I might as well enjoy myself and relieve some of my stress by colouring!

This gorgeous image is from Lili of the Valley across the sea.  Her name is 'Rosie with Cake' and she is such a doll to colour:

I have followed the sketch over at A Gem of a Challenge.  The papers are from one of my many 6 x 6 paper packs from My Mind's Eye - Vanity Fair.

I tried a different technique of colouring with my copics on Rosie's clothes.  I think I like it.  I'll have to try it again soon.

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to see your 'Birthday' creations at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog!

Welcome to a New Year!

Sorry I've been MIA so long.  That interesting book led to a re-organization of the household, multiple counselling appointments regarding our little "angels", and a much needed focus on the children.  While we are still in the process of incorporating much needed change in our home, I hope this new year brings more time for me to focus on me.  Thanks to everyone for sticking around.

My colouring needs my attention as it truly appears to be a skill that gets rusty without use.  I was happy to put copic to paper to colour this adorable Tilda with Snow Heart:

Tilda with Snow Heart will be entered into the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant - Anything Goes
Simon Says Challenge - New Something (stamp and papers)
Magnolia Down Under - Anything Goes
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes - optional something new
Craft Us Crazy - Anything New and/or humourous
Cute Card Thursday - What's New
Sassy Studio Designs - Use Something New

Celebrating Christmas with Ribbon Tilda

Good Morning and Happy Sunday!  Today is just a little brighter in my world thanks to the book "The Explosive Child".  Why?  For those of you out there who share my frustration with having "challenging" little darlings, you can imagine how wonderful it feels to read a book which seems to understand the volatility around our home.  It is nice to hear a view point which suggests my five and eight year olds need to learn skills to control their emotional outbursts - and for once I feel hopeful that I can help my strong willed children can embrace peace.  My angels are a far cry from this serene and angelic Ribbon Tilda:

This week on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog we have opened up the Sundae Bar with four new toppings: Black, Distressing, Flowers and Sparkle.  You only need to select two to play along!  I've chosen flowers and sparkles for my toppings.

The layout is from Sketch Saturday and I've added extra sparkle with Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds on Tilda's trim and around the image.

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing which toppings you choose from the Sundae Bar at Paper Sundaes!

Tilda in Green

Happy Sunday!  Today's challenge on Paper Sundaes is your favorite colour combination.  For Christmas, I'm more of a traditional girl, favoring the red/green/cream combo - and lots of sparkle!

Tilda is coloured in one of my favorite yellow-green combinations:

Isn't she gorgeous?  Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your favorite colour combination at Paper Sundaes!

Consumed

Happy Sunday!  It's been a while since I've participated in a challenge with Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog.  For those of you curious, I think I'll share a bit.  For those of you who prefer the usual lack of personal details in my post, feel free to skip this part.

In the past year and a half that I've been roaming blogland, I've come to realize that most of us have our trials and some of us like to know that we're not alone as we experience them.  Since May 2010 I've come to discover that I have a hereditary illness that most won't speak of, my five year old daughter has celiac disease, and my son, well, the amount of free community support we receive is indicative of something as of yet unnamed.  For the past three months our household focus has been my son as we continue to struggle to get structure, routine, and organization into a typically chaotic existence.  If you've seen HGTV's new show 'Consumed', then you can safely picture what fourteen years of living in one house with two individuals who prefer to repurpose something rather than toss it has done to my home.  It is actually quite funny as I'm learning to let go and donate items and my hubby is saying "but, but...we could...".  Cardmaking has been extremely therapeutic - although my craftroom could use de-cluttering and totally stresses me out as I purge the rest of the house!

This week's challenge at Paper Sundaes is a favorite one - 'Anything Goes'!  So I've decided to use my copic markers and try to colour on kraft cardstock.

I wanted to focus attention on the stitching so the rest of the card simply lacks embellishment.  I continued the stitching on the inside of the card.

Thank you for looking and all your support!  I look forward to seeing your 'Anything Goes' creation!

You Color My World

Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you one of the new Paper Makeup Stamps' word art. I love this sentiment as it compliments my copic obsessive personality perfectly!

I have paired the sentiment with the bright and colorful new papers, Happy Days, by Echo Park. The layout is following the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge.

Thank you for looking!  Join us tomorrow for the September Release Blog Hop starting at the PMS Blog

Jamie Silhouette

Happy Sunday!  Today I have the pleasure of sharing a sneak peek of one of Paper Makeup Stamps new images, Jamie Silhouette.

Silhouettes are wonderful for making cards and scrapbook pages, especially when you want an image but don't necessarily have the time or desire to colour an image.  I have paired Jamie with Graphic 45's new collection, ABC Primer.

Thank you for looking!  Check out the PMS Blog for more Baby sneak peeks.  Yesterday's sneaks included a new line of stamps, The Color Kids by Diem Pascarella, which are absolutely adorable.  Sneak peeks will continue every day until the September release blog hop on September 7th.  Join us Wednesday night on the PMS forum for the release party!

Jamie Silhouette will be entered into the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.

You Are My World

Happy Sunday!  Today I am super excited to share my card with you!  As a paper hoarder I love the loads of paper that arrive at scrapbook stores after CHA.  Friday I managed to pick up one of the new Six by Six (Vanity Fair) by My Mind's Eye and actually put it to use immediately for today's card.

Isn't that paper gorgeous?!  And of course that little gem of a girl, Being Cute Is What I Do:

This week's challenge at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog is our amazing Sundae Bar where you get to pick your favorite toppings!  You just need to use at least two of: green, buttons, banners, and/or twine.  I've used buttons and twine on my card.  The layout is this week's sketch for My Favorite Things and the card is for my darling husband who tolerates all my crafting as best as can be expected!

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your favorite toppings from our Sundae Bar on Paper Sundaes!

Lea and Lucy

After spending Friday evening playing with Christine, I have two cards to share.  Both cards are featuring one of my favorite stamp companies, Paper Makeup Stamps!  Not only is Katie always so cheerful to deal with when placing orders, but the red rubber always stamps so beautifully - even without mounting!  (I know - shocking!)  Of course if you prefer, Katie offers an amazing selection of digi images which 'stamp' perfectly every time!

Right now Paper Makeup Stamps is looking for design team members for their new digi challenge blog starting up in September!  Read all about the DT call here!

My first card is following the layout at Cupcake Craft Challenge using Lea:

With the bright colours and the crazy stitching, I decided to skip any embellishments:

I followed the same layout on the inside of the card:

My second card features the adorable Lucy Mouse:

For this card I've followed the layout at Sketch and Stash.  The beautiful bow was created with my new Bow Easy from Stamp and Create.

Simply Bronto

Happy Thursday!  I'm joining in on the fun at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog late this week.  Darling hubby and I took the two little monsters camping up by Lac La Biche, Alberta.  Wow is the campground amazing!  I managed to colour this gorgeous little dinosaur, Bronto, from Paper Makeup Stamps:

The challenge this week at Paper Sundaes is "Just saying hi".  Keeping it simple, I used chipboard letters for my sentiment and popped them up with foam squares I cut smaller to fit more discretely behind the letters.

The papers are from my stash - a fantastic line from Little Yellow Bicycle for the boys in your life, Generation Z.

Ally Welcomes a New Baby Girl

Welcome to my little stop on the Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop!  If you have arrived here from Randee's blog, then you are on the right track, otherwise hop on over to Paper Makeup Stamps Blog for all the details of today's blog hop.

Thursday was a day of special blessing as a friend with two sons, welcomed a beautiful baby girl!  To celebrate, I wanted to create a special card - feminine with lace and flowers.  As this month's hop is all about the older PMS releases, I decided to use Ally:

I have paired up Ally with the sentiment a dream is a wish your heart makes as I know my friend was hoping for a little girl to balance out all the boys in the house.  The layout is from The Sweet Stop.

I simplified the basic layout for the inside of the card and typed a congratulations message on the computer.

Your next stop on the blog hop is Stephanie.  Thank you for looking!

Dreaming of Summer Days

Some of us in St. Albert are wondering whether our summer has officially come and gone in the blink of the eye.  This year we've had two extremes for summer - mosquitos and monsoon!  When picking this challenge, Christine and I imagined that we'd be enjoying hot summer days - not simply dreaming of a typical dry Alberta summer.  I have paired up this adorable cutie from CC Designs with an extremely appropriate sentiment from Lili of the Valley:

The sketch is from a new sketch challenge blog, Pink {Ink} Sketch.  The inside is fairly simple, using different strips of paper from these gorgeous Echo Park papers:

Dreaming of Summer Days will be entered into the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz - Sunshine Colors
Dutch Dare - Color Combo
Fussy and Fancy - Summer
Craft Your Days Away - Summertime

Thank you for looking!  I look forward to seeing your "Just Beachy / Summertime" creations on Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog!

Feeling a bit Moody

The past few days have been extremely wet. I don't remember a day like Friday where it rained without stopping all day. It put me in such a funk that I was happy Christine had invited me over after work. This is the first of the five cards I worked on, Moody for Coffee:

I followed the sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches and added some lace across the bottom:

The inside of card follows the same layout:
